Plumas Atómicas es una comunidad de escritores jóvenes. Nació como respuesta a la inquietud de una generación en México que se desvinculó de los medios tradicionales.
El sitio tuvo desde el inicio un lenguaje asequible que tocaba temas complejos con la única misión de ayudar a entender, iniciar la discusión y ser un punto de encuentro. En el espectro de medios digitales mexicanos, Plumas Atómicas comenzó a ofrecer una mirada diferente: explicar problemas complejos con el lenguaje de los lectores jóvenes y con una agenda que peleaba por las necesidades e inquietudes de esa generación.
Era una nueva forma de hacer noticias.
Al mismo tiempo, los medios digitales escritos mutaban hacia formatos como el video. Una generación comenzó a consumir información en audiovisual que les mostraba una gama entera de contenidos producidos en su propio lenguaje.
Los youtubers le hablaron a estos jóvenes de cine, videojuegos, humor y desde luego política. Era una nueva forma de hacer videos, de crear discursos entretenidos y que daban una visión diferente de la realidad.
En ambos casos, se creó un lenguaje digital específico y único, como parte de la misma ola que entendió de forma clara quién le hablaba y cómo debía acercarse a su público.
Hemos sido activos en diferentes momentos de coyuntura del país. Las protestas de la Ley Telecom #EPNvsInternet nos pusieron en el mapa, después estuvimos cerca de las protestas por la desaparición de los 43 normalistas de Ayotzinapa, las marchas feministas, las protestas en Chile y muchos otros eventos que no podrían ser ajenos a este medio.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
